If you're considering JAZ Elite Casa Del Mar Beach in Hurghada, Egypt, here's our honest review after spending seven nights at the resort.

We visited during August and wanted a hotel that would give us the best of both worlds – somewhere we could completely relax around the pool and beach, while also using it as a base for some bigger excursions around Egypt.

During our week, we flew to Cairo for the day, took a boat trip to Eden Island and spent plenty of time actually enjoying the hotel.

And honestly? We had such a lovely stay.

From the stunning rooms and amazing food to the ridiculously comfortable sunbeds and some of the friendliest hotel staff we've met, there was a lot we loved about JAZ Elite Casa Del Mar Beach.

Of course, there were also a few little things worth knowing before you book.

Here's our full experience.

Where Is JAZ Elite Casa Del Mar Beach?

JAZ Elite Casa Del Mar Beach is located in Hurghada on Egypt's Red Sea coast.

One of the first things we loved was how short the journey was after landing.

We arrived in Egypt at around 7pm, and our transfer from the airport to the hotel only took approximately 25–30 minutes.

After a flight, the last thing you want is another ridiculously long journey to your hotel, so having such a short transfer was a massive bonus for us.

Our First Impressions

Our first impressions were really positive.

The hotel was beautiful and, despite being a fairly large resort, we found it surprisingly easy to navigate.

Everything was really well signposted, and there were maps available around the resort, which made finding the different restaurants, pools, bars and facilities much easier.

We were made to feel welcome pretty much straight away, with Abd E being one of the staff members who particularly stood out for how welcoming he was when we arrived.

As we'd arrived later in the evening, we were able to have a late dinner, which was such a nice touch after travelling.

The hotel also offers an early breakfast, which is really handy if you have an excursion or an early start planned.

For our Cairo trip, our pick-up was at the slightly painful time of 3:50am, which was even earlier than breakfast. Instead, we were able to pre-order an on-the-go breakfast bag the day before to take with us in the morning.

It was such a useful little touch and meant we didn't have to worry about finding food before setting off on what ended up being an almost 19-hour day!

Our Room

Our room was absolutely stunning.

It felt spacious, comfortable and somewhere we were genuinely happy to come back to after a long day.

One thing that really stood out was how quiet the room was.

There could be entertainment happening elsewhere around the resort, but once we were inside our room, we really couldn't hear much from outside.

That was especially appreciated when we needed an early night before one of our excursions.

The housekeeping team were amazing throughout the week too.

Our room was always incredibly clean, we had fresh towels and everything was kept looking lovely throughout our stay.

One little tip from our experience: leave your cleaner a small tip.

We came back to some amazing towel arrangements in our room, which was such a lovely little extra and always nice to come back to after a day around the pool.

One thing to be aware of is that the minibar wasn't included within our package, so don't automatically assume everything inside your room fridge is part of the all-inclusive.

The Pools

We spent A LOT of time around the pools during this holiday – especially when temperatures reached around 42°C on our hottest day!

The pool areas were lovely, although if you specifically want a sunbed around the main pool, you'll probably want to get there fairly early.

We found that most of the sunbeds around the main pool had been taken by around 9am.

However, this really wasn't a massive issue for us because there were loads more sunbeds available around the other pool areas and on the beach.

One afternoon, there was also a pink-themed pool party, where guests from JAZ Elite Casa Del Mar Beach and the sister hotel came together.

The animation team were so friendly throughout our stay, and the pool party was such a fun afternoon.

Possibly the Best Hotel Sunbeds Ever?!

This deserves its own section because I genuinely loved them.

The sunbeds were SO comfortable and felt really high quality.

But the best part was the shade.

Rather than just having a standard parasol, some of the sunbeds had movable material above, behind and around the sides.

You could adjust it depending on where the sun was coming from, which was amazing when we wanted some proper shade – especially in the August heat.

It's such a small thing, but when you're spending hours around the pool or beach, it makes a huge difference.

The Private Beach

The hotel has its own private beach, with some absolutely gorgeous views across the Red Sea.

There were plenty of sunbeds available here during our stay, so if the main pool was looking busy, the beach was always another option.

The beach area was really relaxing and having the sea right there was lovely.

We even got up early one morning to watch the sunrise over the sea, which was absolutely spectacular and easily one of my favourite quieter moments of the holiday.

One slight downside for us was that there wasn't really a long beach walk as such.

We love being able to walk along the beach when we're away, so if that's something that's important to you, it's worth knowing.

We did head outside the hotel one evening instead and had a little walk around the surrounding area.

The Food

The food was honestly one of the biggest positives of our stay.

We ate really well throughout the entire week.

There was plenty of choice, and between the buffet, food court and different restaurants, we didn't feel like we were eating the same thing every day.

The Buffet Restaurant

The main buffet restaurant had plenty of choice, and the food was really good throughout our stay.

At lunch and dinner, juice was available to help yourself to, but there was also table service for drinks. Staff would come over and take your drinks order, so you weren't expected to get everything yourself.

One thing we particularly loved was how attentive the staff were.

Mostafa was absolutely brilliant and quickly got to know us and what we liked. After we'd been there a few times, he already knew what drinks we wanted without us really needing to ask.

It's such a small detail, but those little personal touches make a huge difference when you're staying somewhere for a week.

Fizzy drinks weren't self-service in the buffet restaurant, but honestly, we didn't mind because the staff were so attentive and would bring them straight over to the table.

The Food Court

The food court was SO handy, particularly during the day when you didn't necessarily want to leave the pool or beach for a full sit-down meal.

There was loads to choose from, including:

  • Pizza
  • Pasta
  • Sandwiches
  • Salads
  • Crepes
  • Waffles
  • Ice cream

There were also self-service drinks available here, including fizzy drinks.

It was perfect for grabbing something quickly before heading back to your sunbed.

Pomodoro

We ate at Pomodoro twice during our stay, which probably tells you everything you need to know!

We had our first reservation there on Monday evening and enjoyed it enough that we booked it again for our final night.

Hassan at Pomodoro deserves a special mention too. He was absolutely lovely and helped make our meals there even more enjoyable.

It was such a nice option when we wanted something different from the buffet, and clearly we liked it considering we ended up going back!

Oscar

After returning from our Eden Island boat trip, we had a 7pm reservation at Oscar back at the hotel.

It was a really nice way to finish one of our busiest days of the holiday and gave us another opportunity to try somewhere different rather than heading back to the buffet.

Makai Tukai & The Sister Hotel

We also had the opportunity to visit the sister hotel during our stay.

On Sunday evening, we headed over there for our 7pm reservation at Makai Tukai.

I really liked having the option of eating somewhere at the sister property because it made the dining choices feel even more varied.

The fact that some activities involved both hotels – like the pink-themed pool party – also made it feel like we had a little bit more available to us during the week.

The Bars & Drinks

We spent plenty of time at the bars throughout the week – particularly during the hotter parts of the day when a cold drink was VERY needed!

The service was always friendly, and this was another area where the staff really stood out.

Mohammed Ali at the beach bar was amazing. Just like Mostafa in the buffet restaurant, he quickly got to know us and knew what drinks we wanted when we came over.

Those little things made the service feel so much more personal rather than feeling like you're just one of hundreds of guests passing through.

One thing I would change is having self-service fizzy drinks at more locations.

The food court had them, but generally at the bars you needed to order your drinks.

It definitely isn't a dealbreaker – especially when the bar staff were so good – but it's one of those little things that would make the all-inclusive experience even easier.

Animation Team & Entertainment

The animation team were so friendly throughout the week.

They'd stop and chat around the resort and created a really nice atmosphere without making us feel like we constantly had to be involved in activities.

The pink-themed pool party was probably the main entertainment event we properly experienced and was such a fun afternoon.

We can't really give a fair review of the evening entertainment, though, because we didn't actually watch much of it during our stay.

Between excursions, dinners and simply relaxing in the evenings, we just didn't see enough of it to judge!

Shops, Diving & Other Facilities

There is a shop onsite, which is really convenient if you need to pick something up without leaving the resort.

There's also a diving centre, which is handy considering you're right on the Red Sea and there are so many snorkelling, diving and boat experiences available in Hurghada.

We did our own boat excursion during the holiday, where we visited Eden Island, had a professional photoshoot, went swimming and snorkelled at two different spots.

The Spa Sellers

This isn't really specific to this hotel because you'll experience it at plenty of resorts, but it's still worth mentioning.

On our first day, we were approached quite a lot by people selling spa treatments while we were trying to relax.

It did feel like we were being hassled a little at first.

That said, it didn't continue being a big problem throughout the holiday and definitely wasn't something that ruined our experience.

It's just worth being prepared to say no if you're not interested!

What We Loved About JAZ Elite Casa Del Mar Beach

There was genuinely a lot we loved about this hotel.

The biggest positives for us were the super friendly staff, beautiful rooms, amazing food, private beach and ridiculously comfortable sunbeds.

The service was probably one of the things that stood out the most.

Having people like Abd E welcoming us, Mostafa remembering our drinks in the buffet restaurant, Mohammed Ali knowing what we wanted at the beach bar and Hassan looking after us at Pomodoro made the whole experience feel much more personal.

We also loved how easy the resort was to navigate, having maps and clear signs around the hotel and having different places to eat throughout the day.

Having an early breakfast available, late dinner and the option to pre-order a breakfast bag for particularly early excursions were brilliant little touches too.

And despite there being entertainment and plenty happening around the resort, our room was incredibly peaceful.

Things We'd Change

No hotel is perfect, and there were a few little things we'd change.

The biggest ones for us were:

  • There wasn't really a proper long beach walk.
  • The minibar wasn't included in our package.
  • We were approached quite a lot by the spa sellers on our first day.
  • Fizzy drinks weren't generally self-service at the bars.
  • Sunbeds around the main pool were mostly taken by around 9am.

However, none of these were major enough to negatively impact our holiday.

There were still loads of sunbeds elsewhere, the drinks were easy enough to order and the spa sellers weren't an issue for the majority of our stay.

Would We Stay at JAZ Elite Casa Del Mar Beach Again?

Yes, absolutely.

Overall, we had a really positive experience at JAZ Elite Casa Del Mar Beach.

It gave us exactly what we wanted from this trip.

On our relaxing days, we could spend hours around the pool or private beach, grab something from the food court, have a few drinks and do absolutely nothing.

But it was also a great base for the more adventurous side of our holiday, including our huge day trip to Cairo and our Eden Island boat trip.

The food was amazing, the rooms were stunning and the staff were genuinely lovely.

Most importantly, it felt like a hotel we actually wanted to spend time at rather than somewhere that was simply a base for sleeping.

If you're looking for an all-inclusive hotel in Hurghada with a private beach, great food, lovely rooms and incredibly friendly service, JAZ Elite Casa Del Mar Beach is definitely one I'd recommend.

We'd happily go back.
