One unexpected part of our Cape Verde holiday was receiving a complimentary upgrade to the Club Lagoon Premium VIP Package, often known as The Level.

After experiencing it for a week, here's everything you need to know.

What Is Included?

The VIP package provides access across multiple Melia resorts on Sal Island.

Benefits included:

  • Access to 26 bars
  • Access to 25 restaurants
  • Access to 2 premium paying fine dining restaurants
  • Private VIP lounges
  • Access to 19 pools, adults-only and family pools
  • Premium drinks and exclusive cocktail menus
  • Daily food and drink allowances
  • Complimentary spa treatment
  • 24-hour room service
  • Concierge assistance
  • Free medical consultations (if needed)

€50 Daily Food & Drink Credit

One of the most valuable benefits was the €50 daily allowance per adult.

We used ours at:

  • Nami Asian Restaurant
  • Bar Marley
  • Bikini Beach Club

This gave us access to premium dining experiences without additional spending.

The Level Lounges

The Level lounge in the Melia Llana quickly became one of our favourite place.

They offered:

  • Self-service alcohol
  • Self service soft drinks
  • Coffee pods
  • A different selection of food every day
  • Comfortable seating

Perfect for escaping the busier parts of the resorts.

Premium Pools

Unlike the main resort pools, the VIP pools were quieter and nearer to the beach.

Staff also delivered complimentary cocktails around the pool each afternoon.

The Spa Experience

Our package included a free 25-minute treatment at YHI Spa.

It was a lovely extra and a great way to break up a week of sunbathing.

Would I Pay For It?

If you're someone who likes trying multiple restaurants, premium drinks and quieter facilities, then yes.

The extra flexibility and exclusive areas genuinely improved our holiday experience.

While I was lucky enough to receive it free, I can definitely see why people choose to pay for it.
